I know the roger beep thing is related to CB but I would like to have my VX-2100 to transmit a tone after the PTT is released.
Any ideas on how to do this?
I don't believe that you actually need a roger beep on VHF but if you still want to move forward take a look at the DTMF ANI options on the programming software.
Can't it be enabled by a front panel key?
@peter you need a programming cable and a programming software to do what you want to do. How are you programming the radio?
You have to program the radio to do this. I asume that someone programmed the radio for you.
Here you have a link withinformation on how to program a vertex VX-2100. It does not include any information about the beep tone you are trying to do. It just help you understand the programming process.
But, again, who is on 2M using a roger beep?.
